Long Run Fun

Today’s long run started pretty good and ended even better … couldn’t resist cutting down the pace when I felt good.  I’m currently getting good mileage under my belt for an upcoming 5k / 10k / half marathon season – 80 miles in 6 days & 6 runs this week.  Kind of felt like the marathon training juices were flowing – it’s no joke cutting down a hilly 20 miler just for the sake of wanting to build strength and stretch the legs out a bit  – what a blast.  Read more about running on feel during your base phase here. I extended the furthest I’ve run on the Cedar Valley Trail – a paved bike trail where I found peace and some alone time on today’s brisk afternoon.  I believe this constitutes some good beer and putting the feet up tonight…

5 mile splits – 32:31, 32:04, 30:47, 30:23
