A quick summary via Instagram

Quick recap … It was tough one. A long grind with many ups and downs:
.
*up: running easy as the sun rose
.
*down: 35-55mi sour stomach … fueled only w Ginger Ale, Coke, & pickles from 40mi to the end
.
*up: time on the trail with Alicia
.
*down: walking through the woods in pitch black for 60+ minutes…I miscalculated where to receive my headlamp since I was slower than expected
.
*down: after the “hour of darkness” I was mentally demoralized and in walking-mode…I planned on walking the last 10 miles at 14min/mi rather than “trot”/jog at 10min/mi

It was a thrill I'll never forget. He crushed me the final hill, but I walk away with a smile knowing after being run ragged I gave it my all and was in the fight.
